Proud of the development of its tuna industry, Victoria wants to move one step further.
Reactivating the cooperation agreement with Bermeo Tuna Capital of the World (BTCW), based in Bermeo Basque Country, and the capital of Seychelles; Victoria, is one step ahead on the path of Seychelles becoming the Indian ocean tuna capital.
The mayor of Victoria, accompanied by Mr. Phillipe Michaud, the advisor on this project, held its first meeting today with Maitane Leizaola Zulueta, the Director general of BTCW, where they discussed ways to work together to strengthen and reactivate this Cooperation in the lead up to the next Bermeo Tuna Forum in April 2027 regrouping Tuna capital cities of the world, where Victoria and Bermeo expect to sign the fresh agreement.
Both parties are excited about moving ahead with their projects aimed at driving economic, social and cultural development across the tuna value chain
