Tree Planting in Victoria

As part of Seychelles’ 50th Independence Jubilee celebrations, the Office of the Mayor of Victoria, working closely with the Landscape and Waste Management  Agency (LWMA) and the National Day Committee, launched a symbolic Jubilee Tree Planting Ceremony at the State House, demonstrating strong collaboration for a sustainable future.

The President, Vice President of the Republic and the Minister for Tourism and Transport planted the first trees. Each planted a coco de mer seed in the State House garden.

Fifty trees were planted across Victoria and Ile Perseverance, symbolising our 50th anniversary of independence and reinforcing Seychelles’ commitment to environmental sustainability for future generations.

The initiative brought together officials, students, community representatives, and partners to foster community pride and shared responsibility for a greener Seychelles.
